亞洲開發銀行成立于20世紀60年代初，是一個亞洲性質的金融機構，促進了世界上最貧窮地區之一的經濟增長與合作。

     The Asian Development Bank was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world. 

     亞行與各成員國政府、獨立專家和其他金融機構合作，專注于為發展中成員國提供有經濟影響力和深淵發展的項目，以促進社會和經濟發展。

     ADB in partnership with member governments, independent specialists and other financial institutions is focused on delivering projects in developing member countries that create economic and development impact. The purpose is promoting social and economic development.

     1966年亞行成立之初僅有31個成員體，目前其成員體已經發展到67個，其中48個來自亞太地區，19個來自其它地區。

      From 31 members at its establishment in 1966, ADB has grown to encompass 67 members—of which 48 are from within Asia and the Pacific and 19 outside.
